More Information
So Technically - What is RealSpace?
RealSpace is constructed by combining any of: original land survey information, GIS information, ortho-corrected aerial photography, proposed re-contouring and earthworks, including cut & fill, new roads, landscaping, buildings, and any other proposed development into an easy to use stand alone executable file or website link. This can then be used to consult with affected parties or in the consultation process. It can also be utilised to model underground formations and their impact on above ground scenarios.
There is no need to learn new software, as the final deliverable is developed to include your own user interface and only include the features you require. Everything can be customized.
Who is RealSpace provided by?
Buildmedia is the leading provider of digital media solutions within the development, architectural design and building industries in New Zealand. With over 40 years combined experience in the architecture industry, and a special interest in architectural technologies, Murray Pearson and Gareth Ross lead a team of talented people whose skills and backgrounds range from architecture and fine arts through to property development and building industry as well as web site and database development. Buildmedia’s understanding of 3D technology, means we know how best to solve a clients issue, or to best communicate a solution. This experience, knowledge and prowess mean that Buildmedia has been selected and is part of the Nextspace Technology cluster.
Precision Aerial Surveys has been a leading provider of aerial mapping and photography for the past 25 years, providing, GPS surveying, photogrammetric digital terrain modelling and ortho-photography for engineers, surveyors, and the development, infrastructure, mining and energy industries covering New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Tim Johnson has been with Buildmedia for 3 years. Before this, he worked for Precision Aerial Surveys where he gained experience in aerial photography and mapping and was involved with programming and the creation of real-time software specific for landscape visualization. Tim then went on to complete a degree in Architectural Studies at Auckland University where he further developed an interest in Architectural Visualization and the potential it has for generating and improving design through more precise representation. He has been involved in visualizing many large and small scale developments and infrastructure projects both with Buildmedia and Precision Aerial Surveys.
With a wide understanding of real-time, architecture, mapping and geographical information systems, he has been developing a solution for the past 6 years to combine these into an easy to use real-time package for consultation and the consent process. Tim is passionate about providing an accurate, seamless interface for data-capture and presentation of this information for effective communication of a project.
When can RealSpace be delivered?
If you have the data available we may be able to deliver a base model within just a couple of days. If you need aerial photography and mapping then this can be arranged by Precision Aerial Surveys.
We can then add almost any other 3D element to the landscape, so time frames will depend on the level of detail required and number of different objects and features to be added. Please contact us to discuss what is possible to achieve your objectives.
How is RealSpace provided?
Executable File – Download or provided on CD
RealSpace can be viewed and used on almost any windows operated computer without license limitation. The executable is yours to freely distribute and share.
Website - RealSpace is able to create a website that you are able to control logon to view RealSpace as a webpage with almost all the same functions as the executable. This may be useful for various stakeholders involved in a project to all be able to access and work on it together no matter where they are located.
This is also useful for situations where regular updating of information is required or RealSpace is working with a number of parties in collaboration from remote locations.
What are the features of RealSpace?
We can work with you to create other features that have not been listed here and a user interface specific for your project.
